As noted by others on this list, Ethereal does not seem to capture anything on
my Linux (2.2.14p18/glibc 2.1.2/gtk+ 1.2.6) box. The patched libpcap does work,
as seen when using tcpdump. Weird... I straced and ltraced it, showing not much
more than already expected: no reaction when packets flow. Nothing happens...
