 Hi all.

just wanted to add a "me too" in reply to Laurent Boulard's discovery.

my machine is configured identically to Laurent's (rh 6.1, patched pcap,
tcpdump (which works fine, just like his), etc.)

the one thing i did that some others might not do:

installed ethereal into an atypical location (a directory tree outside
/usr/* /opt/* etc)

does this help any? (i expect it has *ZILCH* to do with the problem)

his description of the issue is right on the money, btw.
no errors, no hanging u.i., no frames captured.  quite simple, really :)
