Thanks for using ethereal. However, I'm not the person that
ported it to HP-UX. The README.HPPD at
http://askdonna.ask.uni-karlsruhe.de/hppd/cgi-bin/wwwtar?/hpux/Gtk/ethereal-0.7.7/ethereal-0.7.7-ss-11.00.tar.gz+ethereal-0.7.7/README.HPPD+text

reports lavasani@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx as being the HP-UX porter.

The capture menu is not compiled into ethereal if HAVE_LIBPCAP
is not defined (see gtk/menu.c). Perhaps lavasani compiled
ethereal 0.7.7 without libpcap support, in which case the binary
lets you read trace files of many formats, but doesn't let you
capture packets.
