It was a known bug in an earlier implementation of the -S option which 
should be fixed (the execution of the capture process was looking for
the ethereal executable in the PATH, but this is no longer true).
Do you have the capture window when you start the capture session 
(the one with the stop button) ?
Do you have two processes running while capturing (can I have the output 
of the ps xw command) ?
