that's good to know.  i had libpcap0 installed but not libpcap-dev --
after i installed libpcap-dev, 'configure' finished ok, but as you can
see from an earlier post, i haven't got things working w/ gtk+ 1.1.x yet...

i'll have to try that patch today.
