Can we please add something like "Better support for OpenBSD" or even
"OpenBSD binaries on our site"?
I do not use OpenBSD, but I have friends who do and they often complain
to me
about the difficulty of getting Ethereal working. One had a problem
recently
with the number of open files required, for example. He said he had to
up
his quota from 128 (he set it at 512) in order to get Ethereal to start.
Hmmm, one solution might be for these friends to post patches when they
solve OpenBSD problems ... :-)
Here is one set of instructions for building on OpenBSD. It is heavily
based on http://www.linbsd.org/ethereal_on_openbsd38.html which is
referenced in the wiki:
http://www.cromwell-intl.com/unix/openbsd-dell.html
This page also references his experience with the open files problem.
