What about GTK 2.6 should we update to that on Windows?

Certainly, as this version fixed some bugs from our bugzilla.

I've started to add support for this by adding the required file functions wrappers (which are mentioned on the Win32 project page) some time ago.

I'm using GTK 2.6 on my private branch for some weeks now and it seems to be working well.

What's left to be done is to add the libs to the build environment (e.g. setup target) and NSIS.

As I'm still working on the capture engine changes, I won't have time to do it for now.

Is there any reason we shouldn't just jump to GTK 2.8? The GTK+ for Windows site is confusing. The front page says that 2.4 and 2.6 are the current versions, but the download page says that 2.8 is.
