There are smoe things that seem to come up more and more often in recent
months:
- Problems with (missing) unicode support in gtk1
- patches that break gtk1 support

So my question is: Is it really worth the effort of the (gui) developers
to still maintain gtk1 compatibility?

It'd also let us have a much better packet list:

Some people have had trouble running GTK2 under Windows. See the "Discussion" section at

    http://wiki.ethereal.com/Development/DropWin32GTK1

(We shouldn't be using GTK+ at all on Windows and Mac IMHO, but that's another discussion entirely.)

It's probably time to designate an upcoming release as "1.0", which would include GTK1 support and receive bug fixes and security updates. We could then remove GTK1 from the trunk and any post-1.0 releases.
