That's more or less a question of what you are going to do.
If you usually only have to capture only a few hundred packets while doing some protocol troubleshooting,
this feature should be "on" (that's the way I usually work).
If you want to capture as fast as possible (with the lowest packet drop rates),
the feature should be "off".
Fortunately, our "policy" for some time now is to enable as user friendly as possible by default and only telling the people
who really needs "every bit" from their network tell how to do it.
Long story short, yes, I think that makes much sense and I'll change this default if no one has strong opinions against it.
