I tried that but then I had to include format-oid.h in asn1.h is that the
right thing to do?


I think it is not problem especially if asn1.c/.h is going to be removed. :)


Another possibility could be to move the declaration of the asn1.c oid
functions to format-oid.h?


I guess it makes no sense.

What about moving subid_t definition to format-oid.h?
