I haven't checked out asn2eth recently, but if you need something 
which is not married to Ethereal, but something much more general, 
I can suggest asnparser from PWLib (see http://www.voxgratia.org/)

This is a general ASN.1 parser / encoder/decoder. It is mainly used 
for the OpenH323 project, but it can also do much more. It doesn't 
support all ASN.1 constructs, but it is open source, so you can play 
around with it.
