There are other voices in the WishList that want to move all dissectors
into plugins (if I remember correct, to load only the dissectors needed,
making Ethereal smaller).

I'm completely unsure if we should change it at all or not.

Well, to be honest I don't see any real reason for a change.


There are recently added some non dissector plugins, like the http tree
which is a statistic tap, so moving the plugin dir might not be a good
choice.
