I just built mate on linux. When I started Ethereal, the following messages
where printed:

jmayer@egg:~/work/ethereal/trunk> ethereal

** (ethereal:26525): WARNING **: Error Loading LoAL from file: at line: 0, Cannot Open file'config.mate'

** (ethereal:26525): WARNING **: mate: could not load 'config.mate'
*** glibc detected *** double free or corruption: 0x0832bf84 ***
