At the very beginning I tried, but I failed, at the end I got used to
the "lack of name" and as I kept calling it "the thing" I actually got
to like that. I agree however that "Thing" is not a good name.

The various names i gave it while (re)writing it were:
ECTAF: ethereal call tracing and analysis facility
STTF: session and transaction tracking facility
TTT: The Tracing Thing
At the end I left it as thing.
