Thanks, Ulf, that fixes it.

Happily I discovered that capture filters aren't kept in the prefs
file, so I had no reason to keep the old one.

Seems a little odd though, that is simply an old prefs file --
newer ethereals ought to have some way of coping with it.
[iirc, I've _never_ set a font attribute, so it must have been
filled in by an older ethereal version.]

Still trying to figure out the best place to post comments on gtk.

regards, Eric

Well, now the wrong font name is in your preferences file. We don't have
implemented a way to fix this "on the fly" and don't want to have some
"magical font change" on the fly.

You may select a font from the font dialog (Lucida Console 10pt) or
remove the preferences file completely to remove that problem.

Yes, and I meant it's a far better idea to let the GTK people know, that
a lot of others don't like their new dialog, so they get to know they
have to improve their dialog even further.

As I personal would like to drop GTK1 support for win32 in the near
future for several reasons, as I would think the GTK2 version is stable
and looks way better. If you are interested, see:
http://wiki.ethereal.com/Development_2fDropWin32GTK1 why.

However, others might disagree on this.

Regards, ULFL
