Thanks for the prerelease.

This one, using GTK 1, now shows the "You have not selected a font" error
when attempting to apply the preferences (as before, when User Interface
pane of dialog is up, and all I've changed is "packet list selection mode").

Thanks for the range fix, but it is still not possible to change the
preferences, at least without venturing into font preferences.

Have attached my current
  C:\Documents and Settings\ewedel\Application Data\Ethereal\preferences
in case it is of help (assuming this is the live location).

ps:  Ulf, I didn't mean to suggest that the unspeakably lame GTK 2
  file open dialog was ethereal's fault -- just mentioned it by way
  of explaining why a decent GTK 1 would be helpful.
