|I use filter and decode dialogs very often, but use only a few

|On the other side I use prefernces dialog rarely, so I have no problem 
|with the long list there.

I am more in favor of providing an option in the general preferences
to show/hide preference information for disabled protocols, and to
show/hide those based on this preference and the protocol's status.
