vnc is not going to solve the problem because of two constraints
 vnc will require
     vnc client software on client side (this is a big limitation for remote
analysis)
     X on server side.
    while if we have web based ethereal both these things are not needed .
lately i have been doing some googling and found out that if ethereal can be
added to browser as a plugin then pcap (or any supported file) will open in
browser the way pdf file opens in browser when acrobat reader plugin is
present. This way people using any web based packet capturing software can
analyze the capture by ethereal just by clicking the pcap(or any supported)
file.
