Ethereal-dev: [Ethereal-dev] Preferences: different font_name syntax for GTK1 / 2

Hi List!

One annoying thing, when switching between GTK1 and GTK2 (which I do a lot):

As the font name syntax are different between

GTK1: e.g.: "-*-helvetica-bold-r-normal--*-120-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1" and

GTK2: e.g.: "arial 12"

both are saved in the preference setting "gui.font_name" and overwrites each other when saved.

Everytime I switch between GTK1 and 2 (or back), Ethereal complains that the font isn't known,
(as the syntax doesn't match).

The solution to this: save the font names for GTK1/2 in two different key/value pairs and only use the one appropriate for Ethereal's current GTK version.

GTK1: use the "gui.font_name" preference and keep "gui.font_name_gtk2" unchanged
GTK2: use the "gui.font_name_gtk2" preference and keep "gui.font_name" unchanged

Any comments?

Regards, ULFL
