In version 0.9.16 it also works at the beginning. But just in time can't get a trace.
"Works at the beginning" in what sense? Do you mean that you don't get an error but you also don't get any packets? 


Is it perhaps a bug or something else?
It might be a bug, but that code path shouldn't have changed between 0.9.15 and 0.9.16. Are you certain nothing *else* changed? (Version of libpcap/WinPcap? Device into which the machine running Ethereal was plugged - i.e., this isn't a switched-network problem?)
