IIRC, only if ethereal would link locally built shared libraries, but last
time i checked libwiretap and libepan wer linked as static libraries.
Newer versions of libtool (1.4.3 being used here) just create the binary
instead of the shell script in the project directory (and not in .libs)
in this case.
