Perhaps I am simply ungenerous with Sun at this stage... I've suffered
a great deal under their 'misfeatures'.

Ah... one of the great religious wars...  people who want their
paginator to fall of the end vs people who want to be able to scroll
backwards easily with their paginator... more or less :)
