EtherApe is dependent on Gnome. That's the main reason of why a merge
would not be appropriate. On the other hand, if Ethereal ever turns
its functionality into a library I'll be most happy to forget 
completely about the dissection problem. :-)

I do suggest you take a look a the screenshots
( http://etherape.sourceforge.net/images/ ), but those are more
than a year old. I think it's worth it that you give it a try and
I'll be glad to hear from you comments. :-)
