Update them in your Ethereal source directory, or in your installation
of autoconf?

No, it's not.

...probably by copying them from whatever version of autoconf you have
installed.

In order to get the latest shiniest "config.sub" and
"config.guess" files, the machine on which the tarballs are built may
have to have the latest shiniest "config.sub" and "config.guess" from

	ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/config/

installed in place of the ones in whatever version of autoconf is
installed on that machine.
