Is there some reason to expect that a 2.5.1 package won't work on 2.6?

Unless there is, you might just try installing the 2.5.1 package from

	http://www.ethereal.com/distribution/solaris/

(I'm assuming you're running Solaris/SPARC rather than Solaris/x86;
there are no Solaris/x86 packages there.)
