Ethereal-dev: RE: [Ethereal-dev] why isn't protocols/decode dialog part of pref erences?
Actually, Gerald and I talked about that some... (Among other things when he
stopped by to visit on the 29th.)
One of the ideas we came up with is:
[tab1][tab2][tab3]/Protocol Options\
------------------+ +-
proto1
| proto2 | put options here

-------------------------------------
Basically, have the protocol options not each be a tab of their own, but all
be on a single tab, split into two panes, one for a list of all protocols in
a simple scrollable list, and one that had the options. I would think this
would not be all that difficult to implement.
I'll let him bring up some of the other ideas... one thing though that we
thought would be really good - and came up with some really neat ideas for
how to use it - embedding perl. I'm doing some research on at the moment.
I'll send another note on that when I have some more info for y'all.
