Thanks a bunch to Jeff Foster and Guy Harris for all your help so far,
your answers have been very helpful. My Q's and everyone's As will be
helpful in the future when other dissector authors read thru this list
archive.

I have another question. This is a feature that, if Ethereal doesnt have
it, it would be nice for it to get it in the near future.

When Ethereal starts, I would like a hook to do abit of setup and
preperation. Specifically, I would like to be able to go out into the
filesystem and grab some data, and then keep it in a chunk of "private
memory" for my dissector. When my dissector is called, I would like to
be able to get a handle or pointer into that private memory.

Implemented? Easy?
