'HELP->ABOUT' reports "Ver 0.8.12, GTK+1.3.0, libcap 0.4a6,without libz,
without SMTP"

When trying to start a trace with a filter definition, get a Warning report

     Unable to parse filter string (syntax error)."

(trailing " is part of the message)

The filter works correctly from the main window and is a saved definition
The definition is:

     udp.port >5000 && udp.port<5011

It would appear that a quote may be missing from a command constructor.
