Hi

Just for fun my colleague set up a Pentium 75 running
Windows 95 with a capture filter to monitor all ARP
traffic on our network. This runs surprisingly smooth.
He can use this machine to test some application at
the same time without Ethereal missing packets.

>From what I can remember Ethereal tries to allocate
memory until there's nothing left. Our idea is to set
a maximum to the size of the memory that can be allocated
and when the maximum is reached to dump it all to disk
and start with a new file. This way, you can have an
(almost) indefinate running Ethereal, which might be
handy for network admins or something.
