The version information is also available from "Help->About
Ethereal...".

One place where "ethereal -v" is used is in recommendations to users who
report problems; we may ask them to report the version information.

How easy is it to copy text from a console to the clipboard, so that the
user could paste it to a mail message?  If it's a pain, we might,
instead, want to have it pop up a dialog box with a read-only text
widget containing the version information, as I think that'd be easier
to copy from.
