I used ethereal to debug a smtp exchange we have here. It looks
like the Hex dump in the bottom pane does not always display spaces
correctly... here is the exchange from the follow tcp stream...

my version built from cvs sources for Solaris shows a "." after the l in
travel ....

I've attached the caputure to see if it appears in other versions....

ethereal 0.8.7, with GTK+ 1.2.7, with libpcap 0.4, without libz, without
SNMP
