Hi,
I've just tried for the first time to checkout the CVS source tree to
configure/build it, and I've run into some problems.
First, when I run autoconf it gives me the following messages:
kahlan:gregk ~/ethereal/cvs-src/ethereal {1013} autoconf
configure.in:174: warning: AC_TRY_RUN called without default
to allow cross compiling
autoconf: Undefined macros:
configure.in:103: AC_ETHEREAL_PCAP_CHECK
configure.in:119: AC_ETHEREAL_ZLIB_CHECK
configure.in:135: AC_ETHEREAL_IPV6_STACK
configure.in:156: AC_ETHEREAL_UCDSNMP_CHECK
configure.in:171:AC_ETHEREAL_STRUCT_SA_LEN
If I make a symbolic link from acinclude.m4 to aclocal.m4 the undefined macros
errors disappear.
Next I run ./configure and it complains as follows:
kahlan:gregk ~/ethereal/cvs-src/ethereal {1016} ./configure
creating cache ./config.cache
./configure: syntax error near unexpected token
`AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(ethereal,'
./configure: ./configure: line 537:
`AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(ethereal, 0.7.9)'
kahlan:gregk ~/ethereal/cvs-src/ethereal {1017}
I've tried this on both a Linux RedHat 6.1 system and a NetBSD 1.3 system. They
both give the same errors.
Since this is my first time playing with ethereal CVS sources I may have missed
something.
Any ideas?
Cheers, Greg.
