Hello all!

I would like to help with the further development of Ethereal. I work for a
UNIX networking company mostly on NFS, and so I will provide full dissection
routines for the RPC layer and the portmapper, mount, lock manager, and
NFS protocol.

The first step is to enable the compilation of Ethereal on my primary platforms.
These are i386-sni-sysv4 (SINIX M, with Intel processors, machines MX500) and
mips-sni-sysv4 (ReliantUNIX and SINIX N/Y, MIPS processors, machines
RM(2|3|4|6)00). These machines don't have a strncasecmp() and also mkstemp()
is missing (I know, I could use the libucb but this leads to other problems
on Siemens machines).

The correction is to change configure.in and Makefile.am to check for these
2 functions and use the source code from the GNU C library instead.
I have only anonymous access to CVS but can post here the patch files for
configure.in and Makefile.am and the new additional files strncasecmp.c and
mkstemp.c.

How should I handle this?

Bye, Uwe
