Hi,

does anyone have any info on the above of know anyone who has info on the
above?

I am now in contact with the inventor of the SMB protocol, Dr Barry
Feigenbaum of IBM. 

SMB started in 1984 but the first product, PC Network Program, did not ship
until 1985, as it was held up by DOS 3.1 :-)
