Because, although "-rpath" *should* come from autoconf, it *doesn't*.

I.e., "autoconf" needs to be fixed to figure out what flavor of linker
argument should be used to set the run-time-linker path, and set it.

As for why they only did Solaris, perhaps it's because nobody using
another OS who bumped into this problem sent "autoconf"s maintainers a
patch to do it on other OSes; if somebody comes up with a workaround for
that "autoconf" deficiency, they should also cook up an "autoconf" patch
and send it to "autoconf@xxxxxxx".
