Hi all,
you can download the *very first* libpcap for WinNT (no 95/98 at the
moment) snapshot @ http://jake.unipi.it/~deri/libpcap.zip. It includes
the full (modified) libpcap source code and Visual C++ 6.0 projects so
you can compile it with (almost) no effort.

Due to the MS copyright statement (as pointed out earlier today) I
cannot include any MS files. You can download the missing files from
http://telemat.die.unifi.it/book/EthernetSpy/EthernetSpy.zip. For your
convenience I've included the binary packet driver (EthernetSpy contains
the source code too).

I've enclosed a modified pcapture tool (you can download the original
version from the libpcap ftp site) just to show you that the porting
works.

In order to play with libpcap please install the NDIS driver (there's a
readme file inside the driver directory), reboot and start pcapture.exe.

The current port doesn't support all the libpcap functionality (filters
in particular) but is complete enough for building sniffers.

Play with it and let me know whether it's worth to proceed or to stop
every development here considering the MS copyright statement. Somehow I
feel that libpcap on Windows simplifies the porting of Unix apps to
Windows. On the other hand, I don't want to get in trouble with MS
licensing. Please keep this seeding *private* until we decide out what
to do next.

Have fun!

Cheers, Luca.
