If I load the tcpdump capture file into ethereal with modification to the dissect_icmp to check capture length, ethereal does fine. If I capture or read a file captured by ethereal, garbage is packed on the end. Redhat 5.2(kernel 2.0.36) ethereal 0.6.2 gtk 1.0.6 Not exactly sure what the NIC is? Does it make a difference if the pcap lib is used for both captures? -- Timothy P.
