For whatever it is worth, I've written a program that is used internally
here at ISS which converts any-to-any for about 5 or 6 file formats.  It's
designed to add more easily, and the code that handles the file formats is
in a library so you can use it in other programs.

If you think it would be of value, I could encourage the powers that be to
let me release it publicly.  It's C++ and NT only right now, but I would
definitely port it to Linux and Solaris before I released it.
