Hi,

it's been a long time since I last wrote to this list ...

After a short holiday and the 31th RIPE Meeting I am finaly back.

And: I'll be doing some work on ethereal again

This time there are some cosmetic changes in capture.[ch]
But take a look yourself (patch included).
(Updates are in the CVS tree)

What are my plans for the future ?

Well I have been thinking about two new features:

1) an AS Nr. Display for IP Numbers (SRC AS / DST AS via RR whois lookups)
-> If this is done, maybe filters for as nrs should be integrated

2) a TCP window size plotter (so you can actually see congestion controll
of TCP (e.g. slow start, fast retransmit)
-> this way you could see network conditions

BTW: If anyone wants to extend IPv6 support, help would be appreciated
coding as well as capturing packets
     -> I still don't have a working IPv6 box :(
(and more important: a friend has got all my IPv6 books :)

2nd BTW: (RIPE NCC will start final IPv6 address allocation
early 1999 (prob Jan.)) "So its time to get your boxe

!!!!!!
!!While writing this text I found out that one of my previous ospf
!!patches has been lost -> the routines for AS-external LSAs have already been
!!in my patched version 0.3.14 (maybe it was in release 0.3.15 ???)
!! but IT IS NOT IN VERSION 0.3.17
!!
!! -> I've included it in this patch (OSPF basic support (plain RFC2328 is finished))
!! I think this loss was during the introduction of CVS .
!!!!!

wkr

   Hannes

PS: The CVS tree has already been updated to contain this patch
(including changes to capture.[ch] and packet-ospf.[ch])
